Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Over the past several months. My body seems to release some kind of chemical that makes my skin itch for about the first 25-30 min of my training. It doesn't matter whether I'm riding or lifting? Iv'e tried everything from Benedrill to Flonase? Anyone have any ideas how to end this miserable feeling?

Nope, don't know. But sometimes after a workout I get an itch somewhere on my forearm that won't go away no matter how much I scratch. It's wierd. Usually happens on the inside of my wrist or the outside of the arm just under the elbow.
It sounds like you're having an allergic response to something. I don't think we can ascertain just from reading what's wrong. You probably would be better off going to your doctor's and getting tested for different types of allergies so he or she can prescribe the correct allergy medication for you.

COuld it be a sweat factor, probably not considering how cold it is and how quickly it happened.
When did it start, did you recently get some new type of clothing, where exacltey does it itch (if appropriate) I really cant think of anything else but try not to take the med route because those have bad side affects.

Could be maybe when your pores open up and sweat, some detergent is getting under your skin. Then after thirty minutes of this, the residual clothes soap gets washed away by the sweat. No?

Dry skin? It is fall/almost winter out there. Use a cheap moisturizing body soap and see if that helps.

You might want to try Claritin (loratidine).
Good luck
Getting medical advice would be a good idea if it persists. Every winter my skin has a reaction to the cold. I use a product by Aveeno. It's a Shower & Bath Oil specifically for relief of dry, itchy skin.
Good luck! :)

i used to experience the same thing. this is not an allergy. it is caused by sudden fluid shift in slightly dehydrated to barely hydrated individuals. Drink enough fluids to pee every 3 to 4 hours. This will take care of this. People who take dialysis have the same initial itching 20-30 minutes into their therapy.
I am serious. It's that easy. I have EIA and use inhalers, and thought it was related to an allergy, but it was as simple as hydration.
