So... one of my brakes is missing the barrel adjuster. Replacement from LBS looks to be about $25, which is ridiculous. Has anyone taken a standard adjuster and grind half of it away as an alternative? Interested to hear if anyone has tried this!

Thanks, but I need the D-shaped ones, which are unfortunately much more expensive :/

What yr/model caliper is this from? If it's the adjuster I think it is, $25 is a bargain and I'd snap it up before they change their mind.

I've never done this but standard (read not Campy) adjusters are so cheap, or even free from your LBS's left-over boxes, that it's certainly worth trying.
