Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Specialized Street Stomper

This showed up at my door last night no wheels Light Action SIS Sugino VP triple cranks,

The first thing I did was take a file to the Crank Side chainstays to see how deep the rust was not too bad so I sanded off the Crank Side side stay and sprayed some primer on it.

The headset was completely covered in Rust Bright Orange BUT! I polished it off with Aluminum Foil and 99% gone...I guess that is what is known as surface rust...

The question I have is Does anyone know if this is the same geometry and the Stump Jumper?

I have never seen one(geometry) like this except for the 2007 Stumpjumper lugless copy...of a stumpjumper

I also picked up a Mongoose all chrome with roller brakes and Deore XT rest components (with exception of headset and BB still unknown) it showed up last night as well but that's another story

It looks like one I used to have, same size too. I think it is a '86 or 87 model and lots of MTB and ATBs had those super long wheel bases back then.

Yeah, pretty much all MTBs in the 80s had the same geometry. This is no exception. Super long wheelbase, slack head and seat tube angles. SIS shifting indicates very late 80s if those components are original.

I am not sure if the components were are original the bike came from a yard cleanup and no story

I sure liked all the bottom end parts they put on it... lol
I like em too I found some fenders and am just fixing the rest of the rust looks like a complete repaint I need the practice...

light action sounds right for that bike. it was a pretty basic model
