Foo - Anyone fly with gu?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

So far from what I'm lead to believe I can take at least one past "security"-- up to three-- I want to take 6. it's too late to call right now, but I wondered if anyone has stuffed his or her nutrition in his carry-on. . . I hate checking bags, plus it costs an extra 25 to 35 dollars for. . three packs of gu. Something always goes . . awry.
Weirdly, jelly beans are not on the list. . .

You can buy gu just about everywhere. Just buy it when you arrive.

I've flown with them before without any problem. I think I had about 10 with me.

My watch is made of titanium and I've realised that it doesn't seem to set off the metal detectors. If I have a long sleeve shirt or a jacket on (ie the security staff can't see my wrist) I usually don't bother to take the watch off when going through the machines.
Homemade jam got me stopped and hassled though.

If you're flying to/through DFW, jsharr would probably provide you with gu for free.

Mine is stainless. Never take it off and it never sets off the detector.

The button on the front of my jeans makes the machine go nuts. And then there is the steel strip in the sole of my boots...

I have... should be no problem but if unsure, just make sure it placed in a plastic bag and you throw it thru the coveyor belt...

With as much stuff as people conveniently forget about until long after they and their luggage have gone through the nude-o-vision scanners and the cop-a-feel pat-downs, I am pretty sure that a few tubes of gu will not be a problem.
