Classic & Vintage - Peugeot PA60 650b Project

Here is my latest project.

It is originally a 1970's PA60 and i am converting it to run 650b wheels.
I like the comfort of the bigger tyres and also the look.

So far i have got the wheels on the bike with some period white ballon tyres , they need a good clean! Also i have got the brakes lined up and fitting the 650 wheels. Until i find a pair of Mafac Raids i am using a pair of old Lam 66-86 Ballon brakes. The rear brake was a bit complicated as it was a different fitting and i had to take it apart and make a brake from two different brakes. The front fender is fitted and now i need to get the back one fitted. The fenders and brake levers are from the 1950's i think.

Very cool bike. I like the white tires with the white frame. Dig the bike dungeon, er, man cave too!

Thanks alex, the dungeon is cool but it has about 2 inches of dust over the floor!
But it's a quite area to work in a busy city.

Wow - so this is somewhere in the Parisian catacombs? That's very cool. Post more pics as you make progress. I really like this whole "Phantom of the Paris Opera" theme you've got going.

I don't know what's cooler, the bike or the dungeon! The bike!!!

Do you think you'll have any issues with removing the rear wheel with fenders and a horizontal rear drop out?

Alex this is my own little dungeon to work in. Most apartment blocks in Paris have basement areas for storing things. In French they are called caves , the ones we have haven't been renovated and sectioned off yet and so i have a large area to work in at the moment. It has little tunnel areas into different rooms and used to be quite scary but i'm used to it now.

RosyRambler it should be fine with removing the wheel with a fender ,but if there is any clearance issues then just deflating the tyre before removal should sort it out.
