I feel that I could talk him down, it's been up there for a while now. I buy good bikes to flip and resale at cost to my friends. I'm trying to promote the velo culture around town, one bike at a time.

Maybe still abit too pricey? I don't know anything about atala.

low end and it looks like it needs some work. I don't think your profit margin is very large here considering it's not what the market wants and the time needed for labor.

Around Richmond, that bike completely cleaned up and shining (which I'm not sure that's capable of) would sell for $110-125.00. If the guy showed up my place with it I'd offer him $30.00 an hope like hell that oxalic acid works well on it. And there's still some chrome left after the acid does it's job.

OTOH, Atala has made some decent bikes over the years.

But even if this were one of the good ones, in that condition
it's just not worth the effort. There are plenty of other bikes
to save that have not been used as lawn ornanments.:thumb:

It's only good if you bought it for about $20 and you kept it for someone you know. It would take a lot of time and effort to flip, and you would only get your money out of it.

Nope. Rode hard and put away wet. A ladies frame, too; unless you have someone in mind that might like it, I would stay away from ladies frames; seems like more bikes than buyers.

And the OP's is not one of them, in my opinion. My guess would be an Atala North Star, their bottom of the line model, as nearly as I recall. I did own one once, a man's model, and it was entry level all the way.

Definitely not worth $100, but I think it's a cool looking bike with the swoopy 'down' tube.

If I had the time, space and right price I'd do it just for the uniqueness of the bike.

+1. I might pay as much as $50 for it, if I knew somebody who'd really be into it. In some cities, hipster college girls would probably dig.
