I know a guy who actually owns a pair of VR goggles.
They weigh more than my dog does.

I hope your dog isn't a big dog :o
Do they have VR glasses with a decent resolution yet?

Not interested. I don't need my reality any more virtual than it is.
I bet, early on, it was a lot of hype for investors. People got interested and now the investment is in the backend working its magic. Maybe in a couple of years. There is some interesting visual technology coming out of japan that will assist in making VR a little better/lighter.

it will happen, just have to wait for it. for it to reach the public it would take a major investment with a lot of risk and the right kind of marketing. i don't think now would be the right time.
I saw a pair of VR goggles on ebay a couple days ago. They may still be up there. They were expensive, and could cause some weird problems.
Nice idea, didn't work out so hot.
There are different things around that are not quite the Lawnmower man reality, but pretty cool anyhow..

technology hasn't reached the consumer level yet, but there's a bunch of professional/industrial applications.
