Anyone ever taken Winstrol for cycling endurance? Just how much did it help?

Winstrol is an anabolic .. may help in sprints .. probably would put some weight on .. why not just take EPO if you like endurance ?

Don't take that crap. Why would you even consider it?

Winstrol is an anabolic that results in mucho RBCs, as well as helping you to preserve lean mass and develop those cycling muscles whilst cutting the pudge. One would take it, and not EPO because... one has a 6 week supply of it sitting around from another life?
Anyone?

It's pretty sad that someone would resort to drugs that can damage your liver (among other organs) to gain a temporary edge. It's stupid and insane.
Winstrol is another name for the anabolic steroid stanazolol. I weight 125lbs, so I obviously haven't taken it. I prefer to get my butt kicked in races without pharmaceutical help. Why do you want to take illegal drugs? Bragging rights at the local crit?

Anabolic steroids don't increase your red blood cell count. You're confusing it with EPO and related RBC boosters. Before you take something, you should know what is does both long and short term. BTW, if they are so great for you, don't you think DRs would be recommending them for every one. Look up the negative effects of anabolics.

Again, I'm not looking for moral outrage or advice on whether to take it. And I am more than familiar with the side effects of anabolics.
Chongo: Some anabolic/androgenic steroids, most notably winstrol, increase RBCs. And you might well weigh 125 pounds and take winstrol, and not put on any weight.
I was looking for personal experience, but obviously noone that has any is gonna fess up. Teh end.
Crunkologist, anabolics can increase RBC count in anemic people, but there's no legimate mainstream studies that show it appreciably increases the RBC of healthy people. The sources that cite huge RBC increase are non-scientific wacky bodybuilding sites that seem to take rumor and anecdotal reports as fact.

there was another thread that discussed steriods and whatnot...I cant really remeber where it was. theres a website full of bodybuilders (who probably wont live past 40...) that has a lot of discussions about winstrol and other sterioids. www.elitefitness.com I'm not encouraging it...but it seems that winstrol is used during the cutting process of bodybuilding, where bodybuilders try to lose as much fat as possible while maintaining all of their size...so concievably, it could help you lose some bodyfat.
but...wouldn't you rather just get better on your own? It seems that using steriods is kinda like using cheat codes...sure you win the game...but it sort of cheapens the whole experience.

That would require a sense of decency or a set of personal morals.

And at this time, the pompous, condescending troll may lick my balls. I don't compete, so there is no moral concern ;)
Dude, I think that you're BSing us about this topic. If you're not, it's up to you if you want your nads to shrink to the size of dried peas.

Thats fine, and I'm okay with someone deleting this topic since there is no information coming. Winstrol is not a substance that you would take long term, and it is also not one that leads to testicular atrophy.

Anabolics seem to distrupt endocrine function. hence the need to cycle on and off I do consider EPO a natural horemone that when taken as an anti aging factor is extremely helpful to the person who takes it.. I saw ben johnson run that record breaking hundred awhile ago .. maybe it does increse RBC . But there is no comparing it ti epo I feel .

Yeah, wasn't Ben Johnson on Winstrol? Whats more, its used to treat anemia. Androgens regulate erythropoiesis. But no, there's no money in studying performance-enhancement uses.
AAS will certainly disrupt endogenous testosterone production... but then, you can only take Winstrol for 4-6 weeks anyway, because of concerns over its hepatoxicity (sp?). And there are numerous ways of restoring normal endocrine function.

After 30, natural levels of Human Growth Hormone fall. The idea is that if you supplement by injection, then you can extend your youth.

Here's my personal experience. The vet gave it to my cat to help chronic wasting due to carcinoma of the intestines. Made the cat eat, but he died anyway. Winstrol is not a popular drug for human use. It's an older drug that has been replaced by much better compounds.

could you expand your explanation of your rehabilitation / threapy and time frame....i have taken low doses of cypionate in the past to aide in rehabilitation but had never been advised that hgh could be used in that way.
my first doctor told me that i would always have a limp and that i would never be able to ride again without going back under the knife, so at that point i was open for other ideas...

So far, as far as I know, there aren't studies that show that HGH helps healing. But I think its a fairly widely held belief among doctors of the "experimental" type. Worth a shot... especially if you can find a doctor who's an HGH enthusiast (one of the "fountain of youth" guys) and try to get it on your insurance (assuming you have insurance).
It is supposed to make connective tissue grow... which sounds like your problem?
