I thought I'd share with you all my Giant CFR Team.
Robbie was very instrumental in my decision to buy this bike. His knowledge is encyclopedic, and he had some very nice things to say about this bicycle. He has been most helpful since, and I am grateful to him!
The bike is very, very clean. I took it to my LBS right after I received it, and they replaced a ferule on the rear derailleur cable, adjusted the front derailleur, and looked the bike over. It didn't need anything else. I added a tail light, my seat wedge, and a Garmin mount and gave it a thorough cleaning, to include flushing out the brifters, lubing the chain, and polishing all the brightwork. The bike rides as well as my Look 566 does, it's easily as refined, and in some ways I prefer it to my Look. It's purposed differently, it's more of a race bike rather than tourer - it's fairly stiff (but not uncomfortable), it's well geared, and it accelerates very well. It weighs 18.7 pounds on the LBS's scale. The only thing I don't know is the model year, and I wish I did. The tag on the frame says 1992, but it's referring to a patent, not the build. It could be a 1998, which is when Shimano introduced the Ultegra name. Anyway - I would not know I was on a bike perhaps 20 years old the way this one rides and performs! I am so happy with it.
