Hi,

I have a chance to buy this bike for a reasonable price. However I would like to know in what year it was built. I can't find it on the Trek web site. Does anyone know how to determine the bike's age with this number?

Thanks
DutchBike

The bike is totally white matallic with mainly blue decalls. I think this is a custom colour.

There IS an e-mail address buried somewhere on the Trek website. I e-mailed them a serial number to verify the age of a bike. I was surprised to find out that the frame was a year or two older than I thought. The serial number matched 1995, the paint matched the photo in the 1996 catalog, and I bought the bike "new" in 1997.

Currently, the Trek dealer in my neighborhood has some "2005" bikes in stock, but it is possible that some of the frames may have been made in 2003, and have 2003 serial numbers.
