Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. i'm just starting out of my first build and am trying to do it on the cheap.
my question is, if i buy this bike listed on craigslist how much would be useable/compatable to my bike?
i've got a cannondale t500 frame, fork, headset, bb and crank/(tripple) chain rings. need everything else.

-craigThere is nothing on that POC Ross you would want to put on a Cdale, even if it did happen to fit.

Ditto. All the parts on the Ross should stay there. With some patience and luck, ebay and craigslist purchases should allow you to save money on parts. However, I have found that one needs a fair amount of bike knowledge to be certain whether a given part would work on the bike. For example, I thought I got a great deal on brakes until I realized they would not work on my old frame because it needed long reach brakes and the brakes I bought were not long reach. I also did not know whether the BB I was considering would work on my frame, whether the stem I was considering was the right size, etc.
You are probably better off going to your LBS for advice on what to buy. I did that with a fixed gear converstion and I learned so much about bikes and established arelationship with a good bike shop.
