Bought this earlier today.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/110802666209?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_666wt_922

First, any estimate of when it was manufactured? Am I right in estimating the year built as 1983 or newer? When did Colnago go from solid color schemes to the multicolor?

Second, affording it wasn't an issue, but did I get a good value in today's market?

Thanks for your input and opinions...

-Tom

Well, my dad had a 1973 colnago super and it had 3 colors. so colnago has done multicolor schemes for awhile, just not as often as the solid tones.

dunno the date exactly, but i would agree with the poster that it was a late 80's model. may be wrong though

i would guess you paid about its worth, factoring in shipping costs. if you were to tried to unload it on craigslist today i doubt you'd get what you bought it for it though unless you had a good market.

definately a nice bike

Nice frame in my book...I looked at it real hard but it was just a little too big and I want to ride my stuff. Had it been 54'ish... one of us probably would have overpaid. ...congrats to you! Build it well and enjoy.

Thanks for the feedback.
As far as I can tell, '83 was the first year with a braze-on front dérailleur hanger, so that was my basis. The paint made me unsure how much newer though.
I like selling on eBay, but since I'm very rural, shipping isn't an issue. With CL, we are too far from the markets.

Bill, I wondered about other C&V folks finding it! I really didn't expect to Win it, but feeling good about it now.
Now debating wether to keep it period or go totally modern. Hmmm...
