Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Weekend/birthday ride

A new thread to discuss the BlastRadius birthday ride this weekend, this way we can let the BCRC thread die.

When? - This weekend sometime
Where? - Around the city then to zeitgeist for beer
How? - On our bikes
Why? - Because

What day is best for people?
My vote is for Sunday, but what do you guys think?

I'm trying to get out of going boarding on saturday, been boarding for over ten years and it just seems too expensive now. I love spending the day in the trees but $55 for a day of flying through the trees or $0 for a day of dodging through traffic, hmmm...

So how many people do we have for the ride then?

and yes its harder on the knees but, after riding fixed and snowboarding imagine the knee strenght from the combined efforts!!!

it shipped out monday & made it here to ca on friday....thats not bad given the holidays...i had thought it would not get here this year....its all good, my bike can tell there is about to be a new addition and has been performing like a champ for the last week or so...

a friends' band is playing a party tonight, so i will probably be that guy stopping making dashes to the bushes...or i may just do that hair of the dog thing...and be that guy with the sixer' in his bag

anyone know what the route is for tomorrow's ride? i might be able to show up and i'm trying to decide if i want to hassle with putting a brake on my bike.

nice pics.....great meeting all of you and thanks for waiting for me to play catch up.....i messed around blazing a few bowls with a few friends on the hill and by the time i stood up to leave i would not put any weight on my foot at all....made for an interesting trip home though...20 mins of ice, 2 vicodine & a hot bath and its ok for now...

and being around 3 iros' will make it hard to sleep tonight knowing that ups will be bringing me mine in the morning....

BTW, after I posted my earlier post on this same thread, I had my bike up in the stand, cleaning it up. I stopped paying attention to what I was doing and pulled the ultimate dip**** move: I let my finger follow the moving chain into the cog for a second and it chewed up the tip of my thumb/thumbnail. nasty nasy stuff. I've changed the bandage sveral times and i think its still bleeding a bit. ugh.

anyhow, glad y'all had a nice ride, wish I was there. Next time.
