Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - Head Light on Head Tube?

My wife and I have a Co-Motion Tandem and we just added a Ortlieb handlebar bag. Though we donot ride at night I would like to consider a headlight for safety.
My question is I think a light mounted on the handlebar will be block abit by the bag. So I was wondering about mounting it below on the head tube.
Would anyone have some thoughts on this? Also a brand that would work? Head tube measures 48.63mm or 1.914".

One like on the bars, one on the helmet. I really like that I can use my helmet light to look at cars not in the path of my bike. Also on the dark MUP I can scan the sides of the path for critters.

I actually preferred having my super-thrower light mounted to the head tube, so its aim remained straight down the road despite minor steering movements. It's not necessarily bad if it suits the purpose at hand. You don't see many cars with lights that steer with the front wheels :thumb:

Yeah, I know. Anyway, when it's a headlight that can actually reach about 500 feet down the highway, I prefer it to not steer with the bars/fork, because I'm generally looking for either rocks and debris, or those darn whitetail deer ;) If the goal here is visibility to others, then either way should be OK as long as it's not fork-blade mounted and hidden by the front wheel from some angles.

IME, the Minoura wasn't tall enough to get a light all the way over the Ortlieb. It was just barely high enough to help hold the map holder down to slow its flapping.

Then the Minoura broke. Ortlieb is still going strong.

Geoman also carries these. A bit cheaper and you can get plastic tube instead of carbon to save $. I find this gives me that extra room so my bars aren't crowded.
