i would like to do a 375 mile trip from San Fransisco to Santa Barabara California in April 2005. i'm in the process of buying home trainer to start to get in shape. we're going to be doing 75 miles a day.
2 Questions
1) can anyone suggest a trainer for under $150.
2) is their a website i can go to that will map out a training program to get me ready for the trip?
thanks

Performance has some decent sales on trainers. Ebay as well. As far as training goes the trainer will help a bit but you will need to really get outside and ride. If you are from SF area the weather is really not that bad. The occasional storm here and there. Nothing substitiutes training on the road like training on the road. Especially since you have roughly 4 months tp prepare. I would suggest short rides during the week maybe a couple times a week then ride longer and keep increasing your mileage and time on the weekends.
