Classic & Vintage - Miyata 310 Find and fix
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I had recently picked this bike up for the intent of fixing it up for my wife, but it ended up too big. So I sent it along to another young lady that seemed to love it. Thought I'd post some before and after pics because it really was a pretty bike.
Only a couple before pictures
A little rust and some pitting, but not bad:
And a couple more pics. Some rubbing compound wax and elbow grease went a long way on this bike.
I had some old 105 levers which made the whole thing look nice and replaced the shot stock ones.

Excellent work there eippo1 - I have had a few of those 310's an can attest that they are good riders. That young lady must be very pleased...
NOW you better get busy and find your wife an even prettier one and do it soon! ;)
I loved the look of that Miyata and the buyer loved the ride of it. For my wife, I got irvri's pink Tommasini, and am in the process of restoring it. I have stripped the rust and gathered all the parts, except for a headset and will be soon matching up the paint and touching-up the chips.
