The circus is in town and today all eyes are on the trapeze act high over the center ring. They are all packing up and leaving late tonight, so before they go, I figured I’d do my civic duty and go vote.

It was a nice, partly sunny 42*, so I rode my bike the 1¼ miles to the polling place at the elementary school and locked it to the big bike rack in front of the school. Needless to say/sorry to say, it was the only bike there.

After voting I headed down to the local rail trail for a couple of miles, then on to the back roads for a few more miles, then back home feeling good. The only bad was some ding-bat girl who made a right turn in front of me a little too close for comfort. Luckily, I was only going about 12 mph and braked in time.

All and all, a good days ride.
:)

The circus will be leaving your town very, very soon. I won't say anything about the circus clowns.
You done your duty and got in a ride, to boot!
I understand it's not a given that you are able to ride a bike in NH in January.

You know, not too long ago it would it would have been a given that riding on the road in January would be totally out of the question. I would be xc skiing or out on the snow shoes, but with the warm winters lately, it is more & more likely I'll be biking. Warm or cold, I'm just happy to be able to get outside and do something. Mud season is the only season that being outside is no fun. Photos from Feb 18 & Dec. 31 of last year.

I always walk to my polling place. It's only 2 blocks away. I wouldn't dare ride there. With all the undesirables that hang out there, I'd come out from voting and find my bike, the bike rack, and anything worth more than a dollar at the pawn shop gone.

Heck you voted and rode your bike, you should have had some pie when you got home! Good for you and now y'all get your lives back too. Ours is in ~2-3 weeks in Florida and I hate the ads and commercials. I think I'll just go ride.

Good for you. I agree that bicycling to the polling place is a civic duty.

It puts all the motorists to shame and you get a better parking space. :thumb:
