...and it used to be mine!
I never built it up however. Other projects came along and along came time to reduce the head count. vetterfrc2000 stepped in to graciously help in that regard. Wow, it's as good as I imagined in my mind it would be!
vettefrc2000 will tell you though, I'm still stinging over the wheels....those Sunshine hubs, Ukai filled tubulars and (IIRC) 15/17/15 butted spokes. Such a wonderful and light wheelset. I can't wait to hear the ride report.

That's a real beauty vettefrc200! :thumb:
By the way - are those beams of light coming from the sun behind the fence, or are they emanating from the Finest?

Nice bike! I ride with a buddy how rides one just like this right down to the white color. His is a 1971 model and he bought it brand new. I've got some crappy cell phone shots of it.

Japan does the PX-10 proud, like that James Garner race car movie!
What a collection! Gorgeous bikes, all of them. I briefly owned a white Finest just like these, only mine wasn't in the finest condition. Still I would have kept it around longer had I not needed cash quite as badly as I did. It found a new owner in a guy who was foolish enough to lose his previous bike when he attached it to a parking meter using only a chain lock! Hope he didn't repeat that stunt with the Fuji...

Hey Vette, what makes you think I'm grown up? :D
As usual, a beautiful build. I've never been a fan of white bikes, including white Finests. You sure changed my opinion on that in a hurry. Every Fuji in your collection is such a gem and I hope you'll let me post photos of the Finest on my blog.

Well, Scott, I've never really been a fan of Japanese bikes myself, but your collection and these owned by Vettefrc have gone a long way to setting me straight. Very nice bikes.

I'm still waiting for a nicer Fuji to come up in my area. So far all I've seen are Esprees, S-10-S's and such. I'd love to find one with the chrome lugs. And the white paint, wow!

This Fuji Finest is my first "good" road bike that I bought new in 1973. It is still my top rack bike.

- And you will still need a longer stem because I don't think they heard of proportional sizing. (Same TT as the smaller ones.)

+1. then add in that all bikes seemed to have come with 38cm bars back then. The pics of mine above are the stock setup, but if I rode it more I'd take the stem bar combo off and put it somewhere and replace with something longer and wider.

While we're showing Finests, I've kinda lucky in having a bookend pair.
My '72, stock original except that the first owner had the rims swapped over to narrow 27" clinchers. I'm running 27x1" tyres, and looking for a set of original rims:
http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q10/sykerocker/Japanese%20Bikes/FujiFinest4.jpg
And my 2003 (by this point still a double butted chrome moly frame, but it was near the bottom of the line), built up in a combination of 105/Tiagra/Bontrager/Mavic (the pic is first incarnation, 9-speed Ultegra). This was my first modern build, shortly after I got back into the sport. I bought the frameset at Westminster in '06, grabbed it because it was the only brand/model combination that I recognized. Such was the fun of 25+ years away:
