BMX - friend passed away, parents left me his bike and mountainboards...

sorry im new here and dont mean to bring anyone down with the title or topic. i inhereted his bike that i know nothing about. my friend committed suicide and his parents didnt want his stuff around the house after he passed. i guess memories right? im not sure what to do with it either so i went on the internet and found this place. o figure bikeforums might be a good place to ask. im too tall to ride this thing and i dont want it to go to waste in the garage. dillon and i used to ride mountainboards on some local hiking trails, but he was really into bmx as well. from what i know, he got it and swapped parts to make it all swanky. im wondering whats on it and what kind of rider it's meant for. from what i can obviously tell it's a fuse3 but it doesnt quite look like the pics of them i found on specialized's website. i was thinking of having it on consignment at a local bike shop but im not sure what would be fair to ask for it. any ideas guys?

For me, its not that its bad, its just really hard to try to take a look at it and just appraise it, especially without a full parts list. If you really want to get rid of it, take it to a shop and see what they say they think its worth. Everything in those pictures that has an actual logo is pretty decent.

If we were close friends I'd just keep it as a tribute to him, but I have room for plenty of bikes. If I was going to sell, I'd just post it on CL slightly below market and say goodbye. Sad story, best wishes to you and his family.

ahhh ok, im gonna try to figure out whats on this thing, ill take it to the bike shop too once it's mostly apart since it will def not fit in my car. thanks for the advice yo!

Contact them. I'm sure there's a deserving but poor racer connected with them who needs the bike. They'll probably even come and pick it up. Good way to honor your friend.

Not a regular at this forum but saw your title and have a suggestion. If selling the bike is causing consternation with you, which is understandable, possibly your friend favored a charity or if you do, maybe when the bike sells you could donate the money from it, in his name. Just a thought.
