Foo - Happy St. Lucia!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
To all our Scandinavian friends!
Don't know how to say it in Swedish, but I hope you all had a great start to your festivities!

My mom is half Swede and half Norwegian, and makes Santa Lucia buns every year. This year my parents are outta town and I can barely bake toast. Dang it!
Thanks, Koffee! Yesterday evening I stumbled across the local Santa Lucia parade. It was nice, even in the bad weather we've had for a couple of days now.

Actually, I meant to go to IKEA and join in on the festivities, but I got bogged down with stuff to do, and the weather was not cooperating as much yesterday. Our IKEA is way north, and very difficult to get to. :(

Aren't they all? Around here they seem to dump them in the middle of nowhere, so that only people with cars have access.
I once hauled additional shelves, drawers etc. for my filing cabinet from the local IKEA with my bike. You know, it is true what they say about their packages being slim and carefully optimised. I was running out of bungee cords nevertheless and asked them if they had considered bike trailers for hire (as they have vans, car trailers and whatnot). The attendant looked at me unbelievingly, but seeing that I was actually loading all that stuff on a bike she held a straight face and said she will take the idea forward. Somehow I doubt the idea never got past the staff break room. If their staff have one. :D
