My five year old is dying for a Huffy Green Machine. It's all that he's talked about for the past month. Ok, I found online that they were selling these again after about a 15 year lapse and showed him one so that set him off but they are really cool "big wheel" like toys.

We tried to buy one locally and there were none. We tried to order online and everywhere we went had them on back order. One place said they were in stock, we ordered and then got a notice that the green machine was on back order. However, they wouldn't cancel our order. So, we went ahead and ordered another green machine from a second online retailer after we made sure they had them in stock. Both retailers have now notified us that the Green Machines are now on the way!

So, this Christmas there will be two Green Machines. We'll give the 5 yo his Green Machine and our 7 yo will get an unexpected surprise with her own Green Machine. They should have a ball together.

Big Wheel baby! I'm caving in and getting my 3 year old a Big Wheel.

My soon to be 4 year old is getting her first bike. A 12" pink "princess" bike w/ matching helmet. I'm so excited!

My four year old son, Caleb, is getting a Adams trail-a-bike, along with computer, water bottle, new helmet and various other accessories. Now, only if I could guarantee he will like it...

Yeah, he'll love it. Good call on the computer. We have those on both our trailer bikes. They'll call out the speed as we go faster and faster. Another tip: Get cheap bells for the trailer bike and your bike and your SO's bike if you have one. Then, you can ding and dong as you ride. Have fun!

I'm getting my nephew one of those chooper bikes with training wheels. He is also getting a Finding Nemo helmet. I cannot wait to see the look on his face!

I am out on that. Caleb has a squeaky dinosaur on his 12" bike right now and he NEVER stops sqeezing it. I think a continuous bell while riding would push me over the edge... ;)

My 6 year old isn't keen on bikes, but he wants a skateboard! As long as the boy is outside doing some kind of physical activity I'm happy. He never even mentioned a video game system. He is also getting a personal DVD player and a new fishing rod and reel.

My son 11 is getting a Hardrock Pro Disk and my daughter 13 is getting new gloves, socks and other riding stuff to go with her new G.Fisher she got for her B-day.

Well my son (3 yrs) has about everything he needs re-cycling (trailerbike, 16" wheeled bike helmet et al) so nothing cycling related. But he is getting a Tonka Motor Grater, several floor puzzles, some leap pad modules, and a couple of Disney movies from mom and dad. Grammy Jo is getting him another DVD and 2 big Tonka diggers and some other stuff. Not sure what others are planning but he asked for a firetruck and there are 2 or 3 on his list so I may be going out to buy a firetruck if no one else gets it for him. :D

When I asked him what he was doing up so early he announced that he wanted to give all of his presents to the 9 kids in our small town who lost their mother to cancer earlier this year. He had already pulled all of his out from under the tree but was having trouble getting the to/from name tags off.

He wanted to sneak up and put the presents on their porch while it was still dark, so they wouldn't get embarrassed. Every time a car would pass us on the way back home, I could see his face in my rear view mirror. If I live to be a thousand I'll never forget the smile he had on his face. When we got back home, he hugged me and told me that was the first time that he had ever seen his daddy crying.

Wow, that is awesome. My son surprises me every once in a while, but not quite to that degree. He will make a pile of toys on his bed, and when I ask him what he is doing, he replies "I am going to give these to kids that don't have any toys." You are doing a great job raising your son; it is obvious!

Tell your sons that a lot of folks are really impressed by them! What kids. You have every right to be SO proud. Say hi to them from me.

Me and my sisters pooled our money to get my dad a new setup for his road bike. Currently his bike has a 52/42 crank and 12-23(or something like that) cassette, 6 cogs in the rear. He always complains that his gearing is too high and he can never make it up hills.

So we got him some new derailleurs, a pair of ultegra wheels with 9 speed 12-27 cogs, a pair of ultegra 53/39 cranks and a new chain. Basically we got him a whole new drivetrain, hopefully he will like it and he will get out and ride some more.

I'm not completely sure but I have a sneaking suspicion that my parents got me a pair of bib shorts and some new shingaurds. Hopefully I'm right:D

Hey thanks Toad and Fox. My son is a blessing. And honestly, he didn't get it from me. He is just that kind of a person, even at the age of 5. I learn tons from him every day.

And Toad...we are up around Lucas, northeast of Plano on the outskirts of Lake Lavon.

And I'll guarantee you one thing, if I have to take on a second job, he is going to find some presents under the tree a week from Saturday! :p

My kids are older (24 and 19), and I never have been able to interest them much in cycling, though the 24-year-old has done a couple of centuries with me. The 19-year-old's going to UNLV, and the school warns that leaving your car in student parking over the holiday is just asking for trouble. So she's got to park it for 30 days at $8-something per day.

Wow rule, that is awsome. :D Great kid! :D I have worked with kids for years, right now I'm coaching mid-school B-ball and heading up a youth mtb club and I have never had a kid be that unselfish.

rule, as a kindergarten teacher and working with five and six year old students every day I must say how impressed I am with your son's actions. If it is okay with you I will be sharing this story with my class. I just want them to know what children their age are doing in other parts of the country. Please thank him for me for his wonderful thoughts.

I got my girlfriend a Bianchi road frame and a shimano 105 set with mavic wheels. We're going to spend the week after christmas assembling it together. -And I got her arm warmers. You need arm warmers...

I took two old specialized hardrocks I got at a garage sale and cut them up. I'm going to have the frame welded today and I'll be painting my twin brother's new tandem tonight. By Saturday everything will be on and adjusted. Then we'll have a nice christmas morning ride together.

As for me? I don't know. I'm overdue for a new helmet. I had to "use" my old one in a crash thursday. Maybe someone'll come through for me.

Really I don't need much. I'm lucky enough to have an awesome gilrfriend who would want a road bike let alone be cool enough to want to put it together with me. As for my brother, we share a burley duet and he's an awesome stoker. What more can someone ask for?

maybe she will get some nice ear rings too.

That's only for when he rides with me because Santa brought me the brand-new black/chrome Giant Stiletto chopper. ;)

With so much money spent on bicycles (I also have a Fuji Shangri-la 2004 beach cruiser and a 15 speed tricycle), I don't own a digital camera (yet). As soon as I get the disc from the developer, I'll post pics of both bikes!

Finally had an opportunity to ride the chopper and it is a smooth, sweet and reasonably comfortable ride. Wow! My son joined me on his low-rider and we turned heads everywhere we went. Pics are coming, by the way, as soon as we get the disc from the developer.
