hi all

ok, I'm new at this whole maintenance and repair gig so be patient with me!

just came back from the bike store where I bought a new 26x1.5 tire - also bought tubes and the guy at the store said 26x1.25 tubes were fine on a 26x1.5 tire - in fact he said they were better?

any ideas/thoughts/comments?

thanks

They will work fine.

He probably prefers them because they are slightly faster and easier to install.

A larger tube for a given tire can offer a little more protection against flatting and will leak air more slowly.

You're good, no problems with that tube!

Just don't use screwdrivers to remove the tire!

Many tubes come in boxes which specify a range of compatible tyre widths. I agree with the other respondents -- that particular tube will probably work fine with your tyre.

He's right

Bigger thicker tubes don't offer more protection from flats, (glass, thorns etc), they just SLOW the inevitable
