If so, you might start experiencing longer ship times. Though I've been unable to find any mention of this anywhere on the interwebz, they are closing 8 out of 39 facilities. It's part of a 're-structuring process'. All affected DC's will taper off customer fulfillment operations over the next two weeks and have been told to pack and ship all remaining inventory, equipment, and supplies by Feb. 24.

The following list are the locations being shuttered: Des Moines, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Pensacola, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Tampa, and Tulsa.

Also, there will be no severance packages- just clocked hours and any accrued/unused PTO from the beginning of this year.

We use Blockbuster by mail. I think we must have a center in Charlotte? Isn't Blockbuster in bankruptcy? Sucks for the employees.

They do have a DC in Charlotte. Matter of fact, it's an "AOM" site- it's where an Area Operations Manager is based. Hierarchy goes DC Manager->AOM->Regional->Director of Operations.

Blockbuster Inc. did file bankruptcy. All indications are that all of the lay offs after the filing gave the RIF'ed severance packages. DISH Network now owns Blockbuster and the new entity is Blockbuster LLC. The optmistic ones stuck around and are now getting the shaft. The DC Manager in Tulsa has been with Blockbuster in various capacities for 20 years and is getting no severance.
