View Full Version : Tubes
My local bike shop does nto carry the size tubes I need. The only tubes he has in Presta are very thin road tubes! It makes my ride feel very squishy and I am worried about pinch flatting. :(

I run thin, light tubes, and have never had a pinch flat. The secret to no pinch flat is to keep the tire pumped up to max spec. I run 125 pounds in my 700x23 Specialized Pro tires. Glass has gotten my butt, but no pinch flats.

You can get wider 700c inner tubes for touring style tyres.
Most shops stock the fat hybrid ones (32-40mm), but you can get mediums (25-32). The presta valves come in std or long (for aero rims). The medium size/std valve tube is a rare thing and I had to have them on special order.
The ride just feels a bit squishy. :( Guess I'll find out ;)
Schraeder valves don't bother be, I'd just like to be uniform.
