Tomorrow is my first commute ride since Oct 3rd (accident). A little nervous, weather isn't helping - predicting snow/rain and cold. New bike, helmet and a positive attitude. Bike is already loaded, lights tested, tires right pressure. Now if I could just shut the voices up in my head. :twitchy:

Hey there Buster!

Guess what?

The voices never end!

Just kidding....Buster!

You'll be just fine! There will be no voices...Just the sounds within your immediate environment. Those sounds, are most important and you must listen for them. Listen for approaching vehicles from behind. Listen for voices, too. Like a voice that says over a mobile loudspeaker, " Cyclist will you please pull over to your far right..."

Make certain that you have bottled water, a flat kit, a pump, and warm clothes. A nice warm pair of riding gloves are very important. A helmet is required and safety glasses, or goggles would be nice, too. May sure you take your lock with you. Hope you have a cell phone, just in case. Make certain that you have a horn or bell in order to warn people about your path of approach. Pepper spray would be good for dogs in chase.

Eat a good breakfast and drink some tea, before take-off! Make a check list tonight, in lieu of tomorrow's departure.

Good Luck! :thumb:

Don't be afraid of the bike, just get on and ride. Last fall I had a crash then hernia surgery which put me out of action for two months. The first time I rode I had a few thoughts running through my head and since them I have been having fun again. Now today we have about a foot of new snow on the ground so I guess it's back on the rollers again for a while.

Have fun, keep on peddling!!

Like Nike said, Just do It!:)
Sometimes riding could be even nicer if
you have some company, do you have
a friend/relative/worker you can go with?
