Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hi Folks,
I posted a few months back..trying to decide between a beatnik and a sputnik. Up until this afternoon I was sure I was going to order a sputnik(12) tomorrow.I could get the sputnik for $525 on sale( sports basement is having a 20% off until it snows sale) unfortunately they don't stock Bianchis. Than I strolled into a bike shop and saw the Bianchi Brea and Condotti. Both beautiful bikes, tried em both out and loved em both(even though they weren't in my size). Now I can't decide between the three. I'm not made of money( school employee) but the price difference between the bikes isn't such a big deal to me if I get a lot of fun and use out of it.
I would use the bike for commuting(in Nor Cal)..10-15 miles a day and weekend flat road fun.
Please give me your thoughts!!!
Thanks in advance.

If I'm going Bianchi I'm going Celeste, but that's just me. I'd say go with whatever feels right and has the nicer components, if they're the same price.

I would have to say, get the sputnik, since you are going to use it for commuting as well, there is the mounts for a rear rack and fenders. Also since you would be using it on road rides, the bottle cage mounts will make life alot easier. The bianchis don't have the mounts on it.

Condotti is a beautiful bike but everything I read about it said it had a cheap fork. Otherwise, its just a classic pista, nothing more or less.
the coffee & milk colorway is beautiful
+1 Sputnik.
I really like Jamis for some reason.

They also do the Beatnik:

so far I feel like a big lean on the sputnik..price is right and I think it has a good resale value..so if I change my mind a 6 months to a year from now I can always get the bianchi than....anyone have some strong opposing views? That being said the bianchi is a looker...oh well maybe I am the one who needs a make over..not the bike
yeah..I like the beatnik too...and it's almost half the price of the sputnik..seems like a nice ride..just not as swift and agile of a feel as the sputnik..not sure why though.Anyone?

2009 sputnik
Best Sputnik.
Unfortunately I have not had a lot of luck finding an 09 sputnik in my size 50 or 53 . I have been looking for a almost a year.

I wouldnt get the beatnik, its got hi tensile steel tubing which is just above steel pipe quality. the sputnik has reynolds 520 double butted chromoly which is much better quality and lighter and stronger as well
