I like these but I think they're supposed to be for cyclocross.

And these are awesome if you have five friends and you want to look like some kind of fruity bike gang:

I would totally be in a fruity bike gang with my friends and wear those shoes.

I have these Tsubos, which everyone thinks are cycling shoes. (They're not.) I do wear them almost nonstop in warm seasons when I am riding my bike with toe clips.

http://i.pgcdn.com/pi/80/96/32/809632104_260.jpg

I also bought a pair of Tigers but it's been too crappy out to wear them. Will have to wait until spring I guess.

I've been wearing these boots in the fall/winter and they work surprisingly well. The leather is flexible so they don't constrict my ankles, and they are totally waterproof. The toe box is slim enough to fit into toe clips with no problem.

I think those are designed off of Keirin racer's kits.

Tigers are super comfortable, light, slim, breathable, good for clips and straps, some good designs but they seem to fall to pieces pretty fast. I've blown through half a dozen pairs of the Ultimate 81s already, but they're cheap so I don't mind. The last pair I got were leather uppers instead of cloth and they're holding up better, but they're not as comfortable by a longshot. Tend to overheat the feet.

Those boots look like they'd be good for outrunning vampires.

I am aware, but Keirin teams are not buying these. I actually do kind of like them to be honest, I'd wear the 2s or maybe the 3s. Like, if someone gave them to me. Nobody's gonna see the damn number when they're laced up anyway.

Back in the early 90's when I wore laceless vans and used clips, I couldn't do it together because I would often pull my foot out of the whole shoe. And that was with a cartridge. I can't imagine it working fixed.

those converse I find really bad for any mileage above 10 if you're riding brakeless. I definitely start getting some numbness with them

Hey, you didn't say non-clipless.
The quintessential SSFG shoe. Not only do they work well/fit comfortably, you also get a heaping bonus of street cred.

I stand corrected. I didn't know Sidi's thing was SPD clips in road shoes. Cool.

I mostly ride around in some Onisuka Tigers.

When it gets cold/wet, I like to go for mid-top AF1's. The soles are pretty stiff and they are comfy.

Those, but I can't find the long tongued version anywhere.

I've done the slip-on Vans with clips and straps and it works out fine.

When I bought mine, I couldn't get the shorter ones anywhere local. I hate the long tongue, but its there for a purpose.

Adidas Adi Racers, four colors...I have three pair, 2 bought from Zappos online. Note, not so good for cages; the nose is not reinforced, but great for straps.

Tigers are too soft, thin for me. Like wearing slippers.

Second vote for the Sperry's. I've done several metric centuries wearing them. They're the perfect size to fit in my toe clips, dry out quickly from sweat or rain, and stylish enought that unless you're going to work you don't need to bring another pair of shoes.

they do a decent job at tucking my pants closer to my leg so they don't flap around as much on my crank/chainring . not what they're there for, but provides a little benefit to me especially in the winter when rolling up a pant leg gets so chillllly

agreed. it also makes pants fit oddly.

these puma el ace's have been good, though the front by the balls of my feet have been getting shredded by clips:

just ordered a pair of chrome mid-rises; what i really need is something waterproof here in NYC.

tigers all thru the summer. luckily in my line of work they seem to sponsor a ton of events, so i can score 'em free quite often (!), which is good as they get STINKY after a while.

I've got a couple pairs of the Chrome Kursks. They're holding up pretty well so far, unlike the Converse All-Stars I previously used. It's probably worth noting that the Converse are a lot less expensive, too.
