What's your thoughts? Good, bad, and different.

it's a great frame but i don't like raw aluminum and that's too expensive for a starting bid.

i'd rather have a visp

comes with free bb + crankset though. Better than a VISP.

because i think what you're actually seeing are marks from where the metal was polished after stripping... having nothing to do with the tubes or how they hydroform the top tube. the tubes are not forged. i'm wondering what goes on in this strange world of forged pipes and stretch marks on lips you live in.
forging is not hydroforming nor extrusion, tubing is not piping, lips are not rims.

unless you know something i don't, and trek forges their pipes instead of hydroforming or extruding their tubes...

Still trying to decide if I go with that or something cheaper like a kilo or scrambler frame. And save the money to upgrade parts.

True, true. I'd still prefer the T1.

And what's your budget? If it's over ~700 than I'd get the T1.

It just depends really sticking around 500 if I can but I am cheap and still trying to figure my geometries out that I like so I'll take anything that's good and cheap

well 250 for components and wheels isn't enough. Buy a complete kilo and upgrade from there.

Oh I've got components I just want a different frame mines a little larger than I'd like.

I have a T1 and really enjoy it! Its treated me awesome for the last year. I have put about 1400 miles on it since ownership. One thing that has never really bothered me too much, but is noticeable if you're switching between geared road bikes / steel bikes, is the geometry / rigidness. The CF fork makes up for the rigidness a hair, but compared to riding my steel bike around it is noticeably more 'bumpy'. So if you will be using this as your main bike and really dont mind it being rather stiff, go for it!

It is light and nimble though. Plus, they look great. You can check mine out in my pedal room below. Again, I really enjoy my T1!
