Hello – Michigan rider here. Not much fun in the off riding season so I thought I would join a bike forum. I consider myself a “fun” biker. I ride as much as I can in the non-winter months, but never take it too seriously. What I mean, I am by no means a bike snob. I enjoy riding but my life in not consumed by it. I share the road with cars, people and other bikers. My equipment is old, but maintained well.
In the nice weather, I try to ride about a 1000 miles per season. Every Saturday morning there is a 32 mile downtown Detroit ride about 30 of us bike on. I am involved with Tour de Cure and a few other local charity rides. There is a nice 18 mile loop that I do from my house to a very curvy trip through the woods – all paved that I try to do a few times per week.
Currently, I ride a 1998(?) GT Outpost. I have tried to convert this to more of a street bike but I think this is the year I buy a new bike. The components are getting worn, chain needs replaced, cables are stretched and it’s pretty much a tank!
Anyway, that is me.
