debating taking something like this,

http://austin.craigslist.org/bik/2805381314.html

use for a donor bike and bolt the parts on a new frame.

Would this be worth the trouble. Pick up a economy frame from nashbar or something.

Mostly just want a second Mountain bike for when the Boys come home on leave. Both My Sons are in the Marine Corp now, when they were home we road Mountain/hybrid bikes together allot.

Mostly departments store bikes, an old huffy, a outlook and a Kawasaki.

Seems like a good deal but I am not in austin right now.

It appears to be this-

$660 new?
To me, a used bike goes for 1/2 price of new at best if it's had "normal" wear & tear.

Who knows what else might be "bent, like brake rotors etc.
Just my opinion

That is a valid point Bill. For the type of dirt road riding I do, I am sure i could just keep another Diamondback around for less that that project would cost. Thanks for the reality check.
