I have these Oury Lock On grips on my bike, and they seem to be significantly thicker than the grips on my other bike. Give them a looksee.

OP-

My hands are really big, too, also your 8" size. I like the ODI Rogues:

I'm 6' 3" and 8 inch from palm to fingertip. I just put on OURY lockons pictured above. Mine are a nice Christmas red. Best grips I have ever had. The square blocks look funky, but work well. Fairly well priced at most mail order joints like Jenson or eBay.

Both above are exactly what I was going to suggest.

look into ergon grips. they are quite comfortable, and fit big hands well.

The Ourys are a perrenial favorite, tho I've not used them. Never noticed till now that they come in lock-on.

Good idea on the Ergons.

I'm in the same boat, try a double wrap of road bar tape.

Lizard Skins North Shore Lock-Ons. Bigger around than ANY of these.
