I'm 62 and I've been riding a Trek 520 for a number of years. I had been averaging maybe 25 miles a week, mostly commuting and short trips. Recently my wife and I moved, and I re-discovered biking along the San Francisco Bay and up and down the Peninsula. I'm now averaging 90 miles a week and I'm training for a century. I think I may eventually try randonneuring.

I've been lurking on these forums for a while, and finally decided to join.

Welcome aboard and enjoy your stay! Trek 520 is a hybrid right?

No, it is a steel (Cro Moly) touring bike. Mine seems to handle better when I have a handlebar bag and panniers.

More power to you on your steel century then! :D
