I recently got a cast off Spinner fork that an acquaintance had on his old Salsa Moto Rapido. I don't know the fork model but it is an air fork and pearl white finish. Well under ten years old, possibly 4-5?

The problem with it, is that when you push down it stops cold after an inch or so. It rebounds very slowly and makes gurgling noises on it's way back up.

Is this junk, or is it a simple fix? It's free so I'm not out any money. If I can get t working it will go on an old Marin Team frame I have laying around. If it's toast I will just move on and find something else.,,,,BD

Nobody? Some of you guys have to work on your own stuff? I checked the amount of air in it at work, and when I hit the bleeder button on the pump, out came some oil, like it was leaking past an internal seal into the air chamber? I imagine if I replace this seal it should work again?,,,,BD

I've never rebuilt a spinner fork, but it sounds like your seals are shot and possibly some parts in the damper system (hopefully not the bushings). No harm in taking it apart to see what you can find out. Check youtube and the internets for a guide or some sort of product manual. Chances are all spinner forks are built in relatively the same design.
