hi i have just bought a backtrail x3 and in two weeks i have smashed two sets of bearing cages
in the pedel crank i weight 108kg and 6ft tall the person who sold me the bike said the bike was
fine for my weight and height. everything is getting repaired on warrenty but i just wanna know
whats going on am i riding the bike to hard????

First guess would have to be if they are adjusted to tight/loose. If they are too tight they will grind apart, if they are too loose they will impact themselves to death.
Other than that, it could be defective parts, but I would be leary of saying that since haro is not junk. Also, be sure the cages are in the propper orientation. The non-ball(closed or back) side should face inward, while the ball side faces the bearing race.

Considering the fact that I have a smaller diameter BB than you (Euro) and a good portion of my daily riding involves bashing and grinding the hell out of my bottom bracket, pedals, and sprocket (and I haven't broken my bearings in nine months), I highly doubt that you're actually breaking the bearings.
edit: Are you talking about pedal bearings or bottom bracket bearings here?
