Fifty Plus (50+) - N+1 came today for me!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

:thumb:N+1 came today for me, a new Cannondale CAAD10 4 compact Rival. My lovely wife:love: gave me the go ahead last night so I picked it up this evening.
The ride is smooth and I like the SRAM double tap shifting. Excuse the platform pedals, I need to put my SPD SL on and remove the reflector. The stem will be flipped up for my back. My son gets the R500 as his bicycle.

Thanks much everyone. I am getting a wireless computer this week along with a Park Tools work stand (another thread, sorry) My son is really looking forward to the R500 now. We talked about pedals for him last night since I am taking the SPD SL Shimano pedals off the lod bicycle. The 3 of us are planning on some rides together this week.

Son getting the 500 Eh?
That looks an easy way to get the lawn cut for a year or so.
Great bike and hope you enjoy it.
Doug.
Looks unnaturally clean and shiny.
Nice looking bike. I'm still torn between the Colnago Ace and the Bianchi Infinito. I hope to make my choice this week, but it looks as if the Colnago has a slight lead. Enjoy your new ride.

Good for you!! That is a beautiful bike! Oddly enough, I am currently in the process of redecorating my daughter's room in close to the same color scheme.
Here's wishing you many safe and happy miles on your new bike!

My wife is far more reluctant to welcome a new bike into our family. I'm about about to give myself a new bike, though, a fixie.
qcpmsame, your bike is beautiful. I know you'll enjoy it.

Doug,
I wish he was going to be here for the lawn:notamused:, he leaves in August for a 2 year mission in Quebec, Canada, his second home and we will miss him something fierce. Thank goodness for Skype!!!
He wants to ride for exercise with Monica and me until he leaves and then the 500 goes to Canada as his commuter. 700X 25 tires are going on it and he installed his pedals yesterday. Thanks everyone for the kudos, Monica rides with me and I just gave her some nice Pearl Izumi kit:thumb: so she is well taken care of too, she had the new bike (Trek 7300, her pride and joy) until Saturday evening;).

Ok, Bill. This is not fair. When I click on the attachment link all I get is a page saying invalid link. I want to see the bike.
Anyway, congrats on the new bike.
Can you fix the attachments or send them to me in a PM ? Thanks.

I get the same message, I think it has something to do with the fact the original post is over four months old. Doesn't quite qualify as a Lazurus thread but close.

Guys, this thread is over a year old:rolleyes:. The #18 reply dug this up as he got a new CAAD 10 4:thumb:, I guess. My pic has been gone for a long time and I didn't get a new ride. I did ride my CAAD today if that helps any:roflmao2:.

Cannondale aluminum is good stuff since the '80s. My sometime riding partner used to have one of their early ones and boy is it light! (Compared to my steelie) I just wish the heck they made their xtra thick leather palmed crochet touring gloves still. Used to have one of their cotton Jerseys too. All comfortable stuff they don't make anymore.....I patched those gloves up with dental floss for years.
