I removed an Ultegra cassette from my shimano wheel and was about to put a new SRAM PG1050 but it won't slide down the hub. It engages but won't slide down the hub? Is that a compability issue or? thanks!:(
SRAM has the same pattern as Shimano so it shouldn't be a problem. I use Shimano and SRAM cassettes interchangeably. Are you sure they're lined up correctly?

yap definitely lined up ... the little notches seem to keep the cassette from sliding down ... the "old" cassette slides down no problem?
Notches?
Can you post a picture?

Notches as in damaged freehub body from the shallow splines?

I'm using my phone so it is hard to tell. Is that the ultegra wheel that uses the deeper ultegra/da only splines?

hum ... I am not that techincal .. the old cassette was an Ultegra CS6600 is that helps ... or how can I tell if it is a "deeper ultegra/da only splines"? thanks!

Oh, yes. I bet that's the problem. Sheldon mentions it on his Dura Ace page:

OP: You seem to have the hubset that's the exception to the rule. The splines are the same space, but taller than SRAM, so it won't slide down. Looks like you'll have to get a DA or Ultegra cassette.
