It's nice to look back at my life (I'm 59) and all the changes and see that bicycles have remained the one constant. It has been a romance with them, and I'm sure many of you understand that. Bikes are magical. I could reminisce quite a bit, but I'll spare you that. In the here and now, I commute 23 miles RT to work nearly every day, weather be damned, and continue to be a fairly dedicated road rider, although now pretty much of the one-century-per-season type. Many years ago, I rode about half of the Bikecentennial Trail from Colorado to Virginia. If I ever get the time, and assuming my health holds up, I'll do the western portion of that route.
I've been posting on a forum devoted to books and discussion for several years. An author by the name of Paul Pinsky plugged his new book, "Biking through the 'Hoods," and I picked it up. It's about cycling in many of the major cities in the U.S. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but thought I'd mention it in case anyone else would be interested.
