Bicycle Mechanics - Interesting information I thought might be useful to all

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If you have Cane Creek headsets on any of your bikes, you can order individual component parts to your headsets through the Cane Creek website. I bought a new S-2 headest (off of Ebay) for my front-end renovation, only to find out the crown race was misshaped, which the LBS told me would not permit the bearing cartridge to seat properly on the race. I thought I was going to have to buy a whole new headset, but I called their customer service number and they pointed me to their website. You can get new bearings, new star nuts, new crown races . . . anything.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there.

It's fairly common for bike companies to offer refurbishment / service items on their website. People sometimes forget this fact.

I've never done any business with the cane creek store but i did notice that there, they have a pretty extensive list of parts too, quite nice. I wish more companies had stores like that.
