Classic & Vintage - My 05 Bianchi Imola

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I thought I would post a pic of my 05 Bianchi Imola. I purchased the frame and built it up with a complete Campy Centaur group. The Campy wheels really made the build...got those from C Bike in Chicago. I changed out the pictured saddle for a Selle Italia Flite Gel Flow, the current handlebar tape is black Fizik, and the pictured Cane Creek headset was replaced by a 1 inch Campy Record. I just got a Garmin 705 for it this year!

Not sure if this counts as a C&V bike yet, but I like it! very classy and understated colours, a welcome relief from all the "santa bikes" in red, white and black and the electric blue and neon green trends. Many happy miles!

Does not qualify for this forum yet, in my opinion. Nice bike, though.

Let's put this one in the "future classic" catagory:). The design and graphics will stand the test of time.

Nice bike. I like the Bianchi production steel bikes. I think they are much better options than the Surly line. I just got my girlfriend a Bianchi Volpe after she tried out the cross check and didn't like it.
I wish there was a "steel bikes" forum :P
That way I can post a modern steel bike without getting flak from the roadies forum ;)

I just noticed that I put this in the wrong spot...my apologies. I meant to put it in the road cycling discussion.

This thread just did an about-face.
Congrats, the Bianchi looks great. Really like the blend of color and drivetrain.
Understated modern.

Not "Classic" but it's definitely "classy." :thumb:

The Volpe from the same year has the exact same seat tube clamp. Is the top of the bike triangular shaped? Mine has the slight sloping down tube too. It seems like they are the same bike other than the obvious differences between CX and road (and paint).
I don't see Bianchis from the mid-2000s often. Nice bike!

Bianchigirll, I was looking for a celeste frame when I got that one! It was perfect and priced right so I got it. Thanks for all the great comments everyone...I promise to post in the right forum the next time! BTW...Bianchigirll, you were going to check some colors for me re a 1993-94 Bianchi Alfana? I posted a pic of this bike in this forum...navy and white? Thanks!

you dont and it is a shame. i really like some of there early to mid 2000s offerings. they did some great things with steel in that era.

Yes indeed. The entire Bianchi Gran Fondo line is pretty impressive in my book.
