Classic & Vintage - Milanetti Bicycles

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Greetings people,
I just got my hands on a Milanetti bicycle with Modolo Sporting brakes and Campagnolo parts.
Although Modolo and Campagnolo are well known,
I have no information on Milanetti.
It says Padova on the headtube, but apart from that, nothing else is known.
The frame is typical Italian from the 80s. Smooth and sexy.
I know only that he (or she) was just another Italian framebuilder
of quality, but I would like to know something more.
Is there anyone around who can help me?
Thanks a lot

I don't know anything about them, but I sure would like to see some pictures.

There's an Italian vintage forum like ours. Helped me greatly with my bonanno. Located here:

Try google translate if you do not speak Italian. Write in simple sentence structures, subject verb subject at the most.
+1 on pics. We demand them.

Greetings again!
Thanks a lot for the answers so far.
@Poguemahone
I will send them a post, definitely. I hope they speak English, because all my encounters with Italians so far were not in English :)
As for the pictures, I will post them soon.
The problem is I a new to bicycles and I don't know much about the relative parts.
So feedback would be very welcomed.
I will soon post a thread about a Colnago frame I have, but I am not sure whether it is original or not.
I recently joined an unofficial club of classic/vintage enthusiasts here in Greece
and two guys are very Italian 60s-70s-80s oriented.
If anyone wants some hint just let me know and I will ask around.
Thanks again

A friend of mine took these photos in front of his bicycle shop (48x17) in Athens, Greece.
I hope you like them

I have got the exact same frame, not in quite as good condition as yours but still nice. it has taken me a long time to find out how it originally looked as mine was converted into a fixie by the previous owner so thank you for that. i am just in the process of selling mine but i don't have any idea regarding its value. how much did your milenatti cost you if you don't mind me asking?

Hello there Bradley!
Good to know that someone is having the same bike :)
The truth is that I really don't know how much it would cost.
I found one on a shop called "Berliner Cycles" or something like that
for 1.200 euros.
The prices vary from 600-700 to 1200 euros.
I got mine in the condition you see, for 250 euros in Serbia, with Campy
but that is just pure luck.
Where are you at? What is the size of the frame?
Can you send me some contact info in a pm?
Good Luck

250 euros with campy in that condition seems like a bit of a steel, you did well!
I am from England and my frame size is 58cm.
Sorry i am new to forums what do you mean by a pm?

Both of you are under 50 posts, so neither can send a PM (private message).

Welcome to the forums, Ghandee! That's a cool frame. Keep us posted on your greek group, I'm sure we'd like to see some of the gems you ride there. Are there any greek framebuilders by the way thay you know of?

As an alternative they can leave a visitor message on the person's profile page without needing 50 posts.

Sorry for the late reply.
Greek frame builders?? I wouldn't say so. Taiwan and finished here (paint, etc etc) maybe.
There were few people (like 1 or 2) and that was about it.
There was a try to make carbon frames (look for Metron - 90s) but no help from the state, plus the Look lobby, you know the rest...
