Touring - Yowza!
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

That King of Mercia (http://www.merciancycles.co.uk/frame_images/IMG_2083_large.jpg) sure is nice! It seems like there are about 4 different tourers I'd love to have at this price range, so if my bicycle savings account ever swells that big, I'm gonna have a TOUGH time making a decision.

True it is nice, but for really heavy loads look at the top "Vincetore" model which has elongated lugs on the B/B shell to aid rigidity and is really stable.I toured on mine for 18 years and have just sold it and my Carlton in order to buy a new-fangled Thorn Raven with a Rohloff hub---another bike to look at as a heavy-duty touring machine.
