LeBron is part owner of Cannondale. He has been riding his bike to "work" for years.

Wonder if any one thought he was "homeless" and offered to buy him a sandwich?

Pretty cool. I've heard plenty of stories here in AZ of Pat Tillman bike commuting back when he played football for Arizona State University and then later the Arizona Cardinals, but you don't hear about it too often with professional athletes. I like it!

Really not at all. The nickname was given to him by his HS teammates and coach in about the 9th grade.

I have had the pleasure of knowing him that long and more or less he has always tried to be a good guy.

He did get bad advice in his Decission . But he also raised a LOT of money for the boy and girls clubs with it.

As far as pro athletes go his ego is pretty low. Although, to do what he does, it does take a big ego.

Meh. Don't shatter my prejudices. I'm a Mavs fan.

He's won the rare opportunity to display superlative skills on the court and he's confirmed those skills in awesome demonstration. He's won the hearts of many of our youth and he hasn't let them down as an athlete, a role model, or a man.

So then, I would presume that one's tenacity of personal development of an art or a craft is simply, BS.

One's devotion to truth, justice, and honesty is simply, BS.

One's relentless will to continue in the face of blatant and unjustified adversity is simply, BS.

One's insatiable thirst for accuracy, precision, and perfection is simply, BS.

These are all character traits, that are inextricably bonded to our personal human genetics. Some of us are privy to the very best, and some of us are not. Where one is reared is only a consequence of one's birth, it is in no way indicative of genius, talent, or of any type of ability, whatsoever.

For those who are not born with extraordinary gift, their only salvation will be that of possessing the personal will to develop scant potential. Perhaps enough strivance will be adequate to overcome their personal handicaps to the point of recognition. Even then, still so many remain undeserving.

He had an hour-long show on ESPN to announce his decision to play with Miami. Upon arrival, the team and city held a celebration worthy of a championship team. Too bad they lost.

I really enjoyed Bike Snob NYC's commentary (http://bikesnobnyc.blogspot.com/2012/01/amazed-by-ordinary-feats-of-meh.html) on this "story" particularly his observation that the sports media were "amazed he was able to do something a typical Dutch grandmother does on a daily basis." Off topic, the stuff about the Portland Disco Bike crisis was also good, and provides a demonstration that the sketches on Portlandia aren't really as far removed from reality as one might suppose if one has not been to Portland.
