Noticed this inside the hole of my crankset. It only seems to be present on the left crankset, but it's not there on the right one. Anyone knows what it may be?

Edit: I touched it and it's kinda greasy.
that is just the factory grease that wasn't cleaned up when the cranks were installed.

Alright. :) It didn't leak or anything right? Because I happened to scrape the pedals against the ground and when I was inspecting the damage, I noticed the green goo.

As others, this is grease from the factory, specifically Shimano Workshop Grease, you can see it here (bottom left) http://cycle.shimano-eu.com/publish/content/global_cycle/en/nl/index/products/shimano_workshop.html

Anyone remember "The Blob" with Steve McQueen? Don't touch the blob. You can kill it with freezing, though...
