Tandem Cycling - 2006 Burley Paso Doble - Any Experience?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have been interested in some 2006 Burley Paso Dobles that are for sale. If you have any experience with this bike, I would really appreciate it if you would let me what you think of it.

<> Handling and performance of bike?

<> Function and durability of components?

<> Approximate weight of a medium size bike set up for fun local rides (not long-distance touring, etc.)

Thanks!

I'l be interested to hear what folks have to say as my wife and I just picked up a NOS '05(?) Rumba which I believe has the same frameset at the Paso Doble. We haven't ridden it yet but should be able to get a ride in this weekend so may have some input. Of course you'd have to take anything I have to say with a grain of salt since our toddler will be in a child seat on the back and it's been about 5 years since we've had a tandem. What I can say is that the quality looks to be high and the welds are really nice.

Have ridden many of the Burley tandems (including test riding for the co-op), but never rode the Doble.
All Burleys were great value for the price.
Wondered sometimes how they could build that good of a tandem for so little $$.
Handling is not as quick as a Co-Motion; but as good, if not better, than some Santanas which sold for lots more $$.
If the price is right and it fits, go for it!
