Interesting approach to re-purposing old frames:

I LIKE that!!! I'm going to share this with my fellow mechanics at our co-ops in NYC and maybe make a few. Looks like you need to use frames that have an American / Astabula BB shell though.

Why? I suggest some rubber or vinyl or whatever cushioning in the shell anyway, so threads won't be too much of a problem.

WOuldn't it be tipsy just balancing on the bottom bracket? Cool idea though. I think it would be cool to use the rear triangle and spread the rearend and modify the dropouts to support. Then the top tube would have two point of contact.

Drew would be proud. ;)

I've got a couple of frames out in the garage that I've had trouble getting rid of so I might just re-purpose them. :innocent:

Interesting...........................this reminded me of something I came across down in St.Louis last year. The Schlafley Tap House in downtown St. Louis has old bicycle frames near the back door entry being used as individual bike racks. Sorry, did'nt get a pic.

I have a frame w/ a damaged DT that would be a perfect candidate for something like this. Hmmm.....
