Foo - Need help from the knife experts

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
My son will be turning 21 shortly, and I'd like to get him a 'nice' knife.
What I'm looking for is a straight blade, folding knife in the $200 - $250 range.
Any suggestions?
Check these out. Local company. Top of the line.

My oldest knife is a Russell fishing knife that I found as a child. I didn't know that Russell was an Arkansas firm. Great knife.
New Graham (http://newgraham.com/store/) has great prices.
For a best bang/$ well-made 'user' knife, I really like this one (http://newgraham.com/store/product/13/Al-Mar-SERE-2000-AMS2K/). Balances extremely well in the pocket with a well-placed clip, solid but not too heavy, easy to clean, great grip handle, opens fairly well one-handed and a decent steel with a well-ground edge.
I am sure Benchmade and Spyderco have a lot of fans here; although I've never tried them they look great for the price.

A.G. Russell has a little bit of everything.
Benchmade is my favorite manufacturer and they have lots of models in that price range. SOG, Cold Steel, CRKT, Spyderco and Kershaw are all good manufacturers with a wide range of products. Buck and Gerber make good products, but typically a bit lower in price and quality than the others.
You should also check your local and state laws to see if there are any limitations. Some states have restrictions on serrated blades, blade length, and type of locking mechanism.
This photo contains most of my folding knives- Benchmade, AG Russell, SOG, Cold Steel, Buck, Gerber, Kershaw and Spyderco.

I was just going to take that Ivory handled, engraved bolster, elephant hide sheath, 440c blade, skinner I made in 1983 to the post office and send it to you. I guess I'll keep it.
Siu - I believe I won this round. :)

The world's largest on line kife store. There are plenty of very nice knives well under $200.

I used to have a Masters of Defense knife and sold it. Their made under Blackhawk now, and are really nice tactical knives.

Wow, for $200+? That's quite the budget which allows for custom options. Are you looking for something that he's going to be passing down to his kids someday or one really really really nice EDC knife? I'm a Spyderco lover myself and while they have a nice selection of collectible knives, i've kinda always felt that most of of their knives are meant to be used and abused.
