Classic & Vintage - Suntour Acushift Plus 7 Index work with Falcon Freewheel?

I"m building a Schwinn 974 (possibly for a coworker). The Suntour Acushift DT shifters don't work in friction mode (thought they look like they should). My only 7 cog freewheel is a Falcon. Would they be compatible?
I have some friction only shifters but the Acushift match the frame color.
EDIT - it turns out the freewheel is too wide for the wheel to fit. I ended up using Shimano DT levers that look ok and work.
For quite a while I ran Suntour acushift 7 sp with a Sachs Aris freewheel, which should be (yeah, I know, I said "should be") the same spacing as the Falcon, and it was not happy. If I clicked the shifter one up or down, the derailleur would follow suit perfectly; but then a few revolutions of the crank later the derailleur would shift again, usually an upshift. This invariably happened at inopportune moments. I eventually switched the freewheel to the specifically correct Suntour one (thanks, Justin!) and had no further troubles. May your luck surpass mine!

It *MIGHT* work with a Shimano RX-100 or a Light Action. The cable pull seems to match the paralellogram movement okay. But as stated, you'd be better off finding an Accushift (4-prong) freewheel.

I believe the RD is a light action. It turns out to be moot - however - the freewheel is too wide to fit.
I've moved onto the next issue, I'm using a 9/10 crank - the chain is too wide for 6th gear and even touches some in 5th gear. I'm off to see if I have an 8 speed chain somewhere so I don't have to burn my new 9 speed chain.
