Expensive bit of fun, just proved what I thought when I watched the first video, "looks like a trailer queen, wouldn't be able to handle a minor bump in the road."

Ooooh, that looks expensive.

Probably Ti hardware.

How does one enter and exit that vehicle with style or dignity?

Probably Ti hardware.

I would say carbon the way the end results were.

They must have more dollars than sense.

A "show" off-road/rock-crawling vehicle is basically a 24k gold shovel. Clearly, it's about as functional and durable.

There's only one word for this: DERP.

Ti, carbon... doesn't matter if it's poor QA. That looks like something wasn't torqued right and sheared off. Whoever did the right side of that truck didn't check his work, if you ask me.

If you're looking for real functionality, lookie here (http://www.mercedes-g-entdecker.com/brochure_en.html).

I think that side just broke first. It looks like he only has 1 bolt holding those coilovers to the lower frame. They look small...

A lot of money spent to look cool and to be more "bro."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWDL93c4tiM&feature=relatedI love that a stock, million year old Sidekick still looks like a more serious offroad vehicle than a modern Silverado, whether stock or "modified" as the one in the OP.

Nothing else comes close (http://www.rockcrawler.com/features/newsshorts/02april/unimog.jpg)Tatras do pretty well for themselves, too.

At 0:56 in the first video there's a good shot of the suspension. By the looks of that, and the fact that it all happened on one side, I'm guessing some fool forgot to tighten the nuts enough or the nuts were not on at all.

If you look at the slo-mo, you can see the right side wheels drooping in the air, and in both cases, the right tire makes contact with the ground much before the left tire, showing that the suspension had already come apart in mid-air.

Or try a Pinzgauer, the Swiss Army knife of trucks. Made by the same people who make Puch bikes.

More on that truck.

Built by a professional shop for Chevy it appears. Wonder if that was taken as they tested prototype stuff.

The Lane Motor Museum in Nashville has one of those, along with an older Unimog and all sorts of other great vehicles, including one of these:

That Silverado is a nice display piece. I would have kept it off the dirt.
