There have been a couple of abortive threads on this here and in NorCal forum.
Response so far is underwhelming.

I live in Sac, so will make the long and arduous trip from:speedy:
East Sac down to the Convention Center venue.

If the organizers ever respond to my volunteer application,
I might even work a shift or two.:D

No.

I haven't talked to a soul from our club or local racing shops that intends to go.

While I loved to see all of the builders last year, I especially enjoyed meeting Dario Pegoretti and Sacha White.

Kind of a rock star thing I guess, but that's as close as I will get to one of their framesets till the kids are out of college.

For those of you planning on attending Saturday, I am finishing up a
wheel building class (Saturday seminars format) at the Sacramento Bicycle
Kitchen on that Saturday. The location, at 19th and I streets, is about
6 or 7 blocks from the Convention Center location of the show.

http://sacbikekitchen.org/

Since I have the spare keys to the shop and permission from the people
who actually matter, I will be present at 9:30 AM (and for some time
afterwards, because I work the noon to 4PM shift on Saturdays) with
a cooler of beer in the back of my car, and an interest in meeting those
who choose to show up.

If you want to ride over tho the American River Bike Trail, there's a spur
nearby that goes up past the Blue Diamond plant for access.

Again, you are welcome to visit anytime we are open, but if you want to
drink, it needs to be prior to when I start the class.

There is quite a bit of parking in the alley where we are located, and
it is usually pretty empty on Saturdays. No RSVP needed, if no one
shows, I'll eventually drink it all myself.:o

verry good. Id like to invite any bf guys to give me a buzz and stop over at my place in Loomis....set you up on a vintage bike and do a little riding aroung my neck of the woods. as you know, i have quite a few vintage bikes and sized to choose from.....only have the older look clip ins on all my bikes so if you use something else youll have to bring your own...and of course your own shoes, kits etc. should be fun.

BUMP!

I plan to attend both Friday and Saturday. I'm game for a ride on Saturday (on Friday I'll have my 3-yr.-old in tow). I don't know the Sacramento area at all, so I'm reluctant to take the lead in proposing any meeting spot or route suggestions. If someone else wants to propose a ride for Saturday, you can count me in! Hope to meet some of you folks in Sacto.

This will be about the first (bike) show for me so I decided to volunteer.
I will be greeting from 9:30am to 1pm.
It will be easy to spot me since I will be the one wearing a T-shirt identical to 120 others. :)
I am looking forward to seeing some nice items and having some fun.
Hope you will too.

I'll be there volunteering all three days. I'll be working the Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates booth on Friday morning. My name is Chris, stop by and say hi.

Also, that weekend is the finish to beer week in Sac. There is so much going on it's hard to keep track of.

To bump this and to provide an information resource for some
of the other related events (parties, rides, general confusion, etc.)
that are planned for the weekend, here is a link to SABA's news:

http://sacbike.org/2012/02/north-american-handmade-bicycle-show/

We’re hearing rumors from all over Sacramento that there will be bicycle parades, art shows, parties (and afterparties) and rides. It’s starting to feel like all of May Is Bike Month will be stuffed into 3 days!:thumb:

Let's hope for a return to the Midwest.

Within 400 miles of us, and we'll pile into my wife's Traverse. :)

I don't believe so. They usually announce the next year's venue on the last day of the show (Sunday).

I went to NAHBS twice in San Jose, then Portland OR, Richmond VA, Austin TX, and now Sacramento. I missed Indy and another one, but for me they're always really worthwhile.

Could someone going to the show get a pricing idea from Roland Della Santa for a MAX tubed frame set? His lack of contact info is a real bummer...I might be old, but I don't feel like writing a letter.

Seriously...TIA.

Seriously...TIA.

Tell me exactly what you want and I'll try
to ask on Sunday. I attended today, and
he was present.............gave some interviews.

I don't know what to think about the whole
thing. I'm Fred enough to be fascinated and
really enjoyed looking at some of the lugsets
you can get from these guys in Rocklin.

OTOH, I have to say when I looked around the room,
thought about the sort of money that was involved
in the custom frame and bike business, and saw how
many guys are trying to cut out a small niche for
themselves......I threw up in my mouth a little.:o

Regardless, I'd love to be a CL (or whatever serves that
purpose in the future) troller in twenty or thirty years
when some of this stuff has been hidden away in the attic
because the guy who bought it and rode it and cherished
it is dead or in the nursing home.

But by then, I'll be that guy.:roflmao2:

genuinely frightened me. :twitchy:
