Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What's up with this bar? It's a carbon fiber riser bar that everyone and their grandmother is selling for < $70. I've seen it on sale between $59 -$79, but most seem to be $69. Colorado Cyclist has it for $59. This is almost too good for me to pass up. Any reason why I shouldn't get it?
Edit.. that should be the MonkeyLite (EC-70) not the SL (EC-90). The EC-90 is on sale at a few places for about $79, but I don't see it being worth the 15g savings
Other than the fact that I personally have more confidence in my Maxm bars. Not really

Make sure the bars are right for you though, the main idea of bars uisnt to savwe weight (although its a nice perk) make sure they are the correct shape and degree for you, or you'll waste you money

I dont know about riser bars as i use flat bars but the EC-90 drops 15 or 20 grams becuase the length of the bar is reduced.

There have been a number of instances of cracks developing in the newer Monkeylites.
I had it happen to two bars.
Maxm = no problems.

Or you could just get a Scandium Bar...
